Philippine Idol vs Pinoy Idol

Lets compare which one is better

Title:
In all Honesty I really believe that Philippine Idol is wayyyy better than that Pinoy Idol. Pinoy Idol almost sounds like Penoy Idol which is really not a good thing to hear. AND besides Eddie Gil already is the First Pinoy Idol. lolz

Logo:
Well as for the logo I really dont mind if it looks Amateurish actually I dont think it looks rubbish cos if you would compare the ads Pinoy Idol's Ad is way better. Well thats just my opinion ryt?

Pinoy Idol Ad

Philippine Idol

Judges:
Actually GMA should already reveal the judges by now so that people would know and react if theyve chosen the right people. As for me I would love to see Mo Twister, as a judge or host. cos honestly he did great during the Philippine Idol days

Host:
I still dont think Regine is the best Host for this show. Why wont GMA give Drew a chance? He's actually good at this thing unlike Regine who is sooo over rated and so over exposed in all honesty. Im a Regine fan but com'on lets give others a chance. Regine is not the only one who can host ryt?

and as for the details of the Auditions. GMA should really tell the public whats the age limit as early as today cos for sure there are a lot of people who will audition this year.

as for the latest Pinoy Idol news and media pls dont forget to bookmark this site. Thanks!!!

Mau's Guesting on SOP

O my, what happened to Mau. I mean whats with the braces and WOW the makeup. This is not right. and is that it? I mean Jan's peformance was longer than your's. This is really unfair. But at least we finally seen you in television. Still sad though cos They treated you like rubbish. Unbelievable!!! I think next time get rid of that braces and look for a very good make up artist. I mean honestly that was a total mess. Another thing is the Performances of Jonalyn and the other girl(was it Aicelle?) they made your performance aweful. It was out of sync in other words they ruined your song. WOW!!!

Gian Magdangal fully supports Sheree in her daring roles and sexy image

Masyadong bloated ang male ego na pinaiiral ng maraming artistang lalaki, but Gian is not at all bothered.

"Bakit hindi? Kasi hindi ko naman iniisip na negative ang pagka-sexy ng image ni Sheree. She's doing it as part of being an actress. I'm proud of that. Hindi naman siya gumagawa ng mga kababuyan," paliwanag ng Philippine Idol finalist sa premiere night ng pelikulang RoXXXanne, na pinagbibidahan ng girlfriend niya na si Sheree, kagabi, October 10, sa UP Film Center, Quezon City.

Hindi makitid ang utak ni Gian para hindi matanggap na trabaho lang ang ginagawa ng kanyang girlfriend, despite the fact that he himself is starting on the right foot as a wholesome idol.

"Wala kaming planong basta i-deny ang relationship na ito," sabi ni Gian. "Hindi namin iniisip na itago, but just be discreet about it. Okay, alam ng mga tao na mag-on kami, pero hindi ito ang dapat naka-focus sa amin dahil may kanya-kanya kaming image at career, di ba?

"Pero sa showbiz, pag-uusapan at pag-uusapan ang tungkol sa bagay na 'yan, kaya ano ba ang magiging problema namin? We just want to be ourselves, and enjoy our relationship. Huwag na lang basta intindihin ang sasabihin ng iba, basta ba wala kaming natatapakang ibang tao," paliwanag ng singer.

SUPPORTIVE BOYFRIEND. Gusto raw ni Gian na suportahan si Sheree in whatever way he can.

"At pinagkatiwalaan ko siyang mabuti, and I should be very supportive. Hindi ko naman dapat yatang sabihin sa kanya na tigilan na niya ang pagpapa-sexy, kasi that's part of her being an actress. She wants to be taken seriously also, at depende pa rin 'yan sa gagawin niyang projects. Jun Lana ang writer at direktor nila, so dun pa lang, I should be confident na matino at maganda ang kalalabasan ng pelikula.

"I don't have the right to tell Sheree what and what not to do. Alam niya ang ginagawa niya sa pag-aartista niya. The same way na hindi niya basta sasabihin sa akin, dapat na ang kinakanta ko rock o kaya R&B, and hindi naman 'yon ang forte ko. Respetuhan lang naman 'yan sa choices, and these things have nothing to do with our personal relationship," paglilinaw ng singer.

PHILIPPINE IDOL ON GMA-7.

Dahil noong nasa Singko pa ang Philippine Idol, I'm very sure may mga mababago ngayong nasa Siete na—and it should be for the better," banggit ni Gian bilang pangwakas.

'Idol' chatter with Regine

MANILA, Philippines - A GMA 7 insider earlier told Inquirer Entertainment that singer Regine Velasquez was a shoo-in as the new host of the second season of “Philippine Idol.”

This development didn't exactly surprise Regine.

“There's nothing official yet, but hopefully it's true,” Regine tells the Inquirer in an exclusive interview. “Singing contests are usually assigned to me. But things can still change. You never know.”

Regine previously hosted GMA 7's flagship contest “Pinoy Pop Superstar” and now hosts “Celebrity Duets,” another program concept from Fremantle Media, “Idol” franchise holder.

Clearly, the odds are stacked in Regine's favor.

For one thing, it helps that she's familiar with the “Idol” concept.

“I used to watch it. The season that I saw from start to finish was Carrie Underwood's year. I loved her story, that she was a farm girl.”

Another edge is that Regine started in amateur singing contests, too, specifically on “Ang Bagong Kampeon.”

It was on that RPN 9 show that she met Wilma Galvante, a producer then, who later became GMA 7's senior vice president for Entertainment TV.

But she concedes that boyfriend Ogie Alcasid, who co-hosts “Duets” with her, is a far more earnest host.

“I'm so glad that Ogie is with me. I used to get stressed on “Pinoy Pop” because I was on my own. Now, I have someone to exchange jokes with. When I make a mistake, Ogie quickly covers for me.”

If she could have her way, she'd like to see the following celebs on the second season of “Duets”:

“There should be a basketball player like James Yap, a former child star like Nino Muhlach, politicians like Mar Roxas or Francis Escudero, a fashion designer like Rajo Laurel. Also a newscaster.”

Apart from “Duets,” she is also working on a new movie with Ogie, produced by GMA Films, tentatively titled “Love is Blind and Deaf.”

“Shoot starts at the end of the month. I play a blind pianist and Ogie's a deaf composer.

Theme song of the movie is “Ako'y sa 'Yo,” originally recorded by Jaya. “I'll also sing it in my forthcoming concert 'Ang Ating Musika' at the Aliw Theater next month. It's beautiful, like a wedding song.”

Oops. A Freudian slip?

“No, we're not getting married yet,” she insists.

But are they planning to start a family?

“Soon. We just need to settle some things, but as soon as we're ready, hopefully. We are definitely planning [to have kids].”

update on Mau's Gigs

Great news for Mau's Supporters. Its official this Sunday Mau will be in SOP to promote her Album. So pls dont forget to watch it. It'll be 11:45 am this Sunday. It would be better if you will turn your tv earlier than that cos you'll never know. anyways, I hope someone would cap Mau's SOP guesting cos my tvtuner is still not working. I'll probably take some snapshots of it and record the audio and put it here. fingers cross. and also If Dr. Manny will stick to his plan. Mau will be in Celebrity Duets this Saturday.

Ryan’s balancing act

Balancing a good career and a healthy love life is very hard for some.

We usually have to choose one or the other, especially in the entertainment business.

Often, women are more flexible when it comes to being put on the spot. Male personalities are not pressured as much as females are.

Working with one of the luckiest men in this industry the second time around is memorable to me. I call him lucky and well-focused because he has proven a lot of people wrong in saying you can’t have the best of both worlds.

Not only is he moving a step up every day in his career. His love life remains unaffected by intrigues.

That guy is Ryan Agoncillo. He has made a name for himself in such a short time. Acting wasn’t something he planned on getting into while he was more active in hosting corporate and TV shows like Philippine Idol.

He says, "I was already a TV host for six years. Opportunities to act came around in those six years, but I refused because I wasn’t confident enough and felt that I needed to establish myself as a host first and then from there, I’d think about branching out into acting."

ABS-CBN’s Krystala was his first acting stint. "It was a big change for me, but it wasn’t so hard because it was a fantasy series. It didn’t require a lot of big dramatic scenes. I was there mainly for comic relief," he says.

His second TV series was Bituing Walang Ningning. Ysabella followed.

I always set aside time to sit and watch this show since I also admire Judy Ann Santos very much.

In fact, I was tempted to ask Ryan about how the rest of the story went, but I managed to keep my mouth shut just so I can look forward to watching the show every night.

Ryan’s role on Ysabella is very challenging. For a new actor, he deserves applause for such a job well-done.

"This one was a stretch for me because even before we started, they already warned me about my role. Not only do I have to play twins, but one twin pretends to be the other one.

"I am just very thankful for our directors. They’re with me every step of the way, literally. With every line, every scene, they guide me through it.

"This is the most challenging role for me so far," Ryan describes his Ysabella experience.

Philippine Idol is transferring to GMA 7 and there’s a rumor that Ryan might not host the second season.

"I had so much fun working with ABC 5 and on the first Philippine Idol. I’m sure they have their reasons for moving and GMA 7 could provide a good home for them," he explains.

If he doesn’t end up the host for the second season, Ryan says, "I love Philippine Idol definitely, but if they choose not to go with me for this particular season, then we move on."

As we all know, Star Cinema’s Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo (KKK) did very well at the box-office in last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

Star Cinema is shooting the sequel of this masterpiece, which also includes me. It’s also intended for the 2007 Metro Manila Filmfest. Ryan told me KKK’s success surprised him and Juday.

It should no longer surprise them should this year’s entry become another box-office hit.

Ryan and Juday are a great pair. They work well together.

"We have the same values when it comes to work. She’s a consummate professional. Twenty years in the business does that to you. It’s really a good thing that we don’t clash on the set.

"It’s more about respect for people on the set. We’ve learned through the years to just put aside personal matters."

Their partnership is just like lyrics and melody. At the end of the day, Ryan has done a great job at keeping everything well-balanced in his life.

Smile and have a wonderful day!

Two Ryans on Two

Rumor: Ryan Cayabyab and Ryan Agoncillo—judge and host of the first season of “Philippine Idol” on ABC 5 — are being wooed to join ABS-CBN 2’s “Pinoy Dream Academy” instead of the new “Idol” on GMA 7.

Ryan Agoncillo torn between "Philippine Idol" and "Pinoy Dream Academy"

Actor-TV host Ryan Agoncillo clarified during the presscon of Ysabella last Saturday, September 29, that he has not yet received definite hosting job offers from ABS-CBN or GMA-7. Because of this, Ryan said that he could not give a definite answer whether he will be hosting the next season of Philippine Idol on GMA-7 or the second season of Pinoy Dream Academy [PDA] in his mother station, ABS-CBN.
But now that it's with GMA, ang nangyayari ngayon, I'm in talks with [ABS-CBN]. We're negotiating now kasi ang alam ko PDA will start soon

"Maraming kailangang ayusin dahil siyempre, kumbaga, may maganda akong relationship with GMA, with Fremantle [licensor of Philippine Idol] as well, and PDA is with Endemol and ABS-CBN, which is my mother station."

But Ryan also admitted, "We're negotiating with ABS-CBN and there hasn't been any talks with GMA yet. And I promised naman Tita Cory Vidanes [ABS-CBN Head for TV Production] that even before mangyari na umupo ako with GMA to talk, sasabihin ko sa kanya."

PHILIPPINE IDOL vs PINOY DREAM ACADEMY. Ryan confessed Philippine Idol has become a big part of his career, especially in hosting. This was his first solo-hosting job that made him more popular as a host. However, Ryan said that Pinoy Dream Academy would also be a big challenge for him if he would host it.

Ryan said he was the last person to know about the transfer of Philippine Idol franchise from ABC-5 to GMA-7.

"Isa ako sa mga pinakahuling nakaalam nung Philippine Idol transfer. I only found out about it the morning that [American Idol finalist] Elliott Yamin came here [in the Philippines], when I hosted his presscon. Nung huli ko lang na-confirn na yun nga, sabi ng taga-ABC-5 sa akin na, ‘Yes, we've given up the franchise and it's with GMA already.'"

He said that he was just waiting for the Philippine Idol's move since his season has already ended.

"Hindi ko naman alam kung kasama ako sa mga plano nila in the future. Kumbaga, I can't assume anything, e. Until they talk to me, I can't assume," Ryan said.

"Siyempre ako, mahal ko yung Philippine Idol franchise. I feel personally attached to it. But at the end of the day, di ba, if you don't get offered, you don't get a job? And ako, I'm just really looking forward to hosting."

If both ABS-CBN and GMA-7 offered him a hosting job for their respective programs, Ryan said that he might have to weigh things very carefully.

He explained, "Kasi, again, maganda ang relationship ko with GMA and Fremantle, pero ang mother station ko is ABS-CBN. And PDA is also a very good show. Kumbaga, ang problema ko is alin bang show ang talagang magagampanan ko ang gusto kong mangyari. Kasi 'yon nga, hindi lang naman to money trip lang o raket lang. It will dictate how things will go sa paghu-host ko."

The Idol host also said, "Philippine Idol is such a big step for me, e. Kumbaga, 'yon yung una kong solo hosting na akin talaga. So for me to give it up, malaking bagay talaga. Although PDA is a big challenge because kilala naman natin ang mga produkto ng PDA—sumisikat sila, pinanonood sila—so ibang challenge din 'yon."

In the end, Ryan said to the press that he just have to wait for the stations' move before giving a definite answer. "I'm just looking forward to hosting. Tagal na akong hindi naghu-host, mag-iisang taon na. Actually, yung huli ko is finals ng [Philippine Idol]," ended Ryan.

GMA vs ABS-CBN

There’s a new battle to be fought come early next year between the two giant networks. With GMA 7 clinching the rights from Fremantle Media to air "Philippine Idol," the network is undoubtedly pitting it against ABS-CBN’s Endemol franchise for "Pinoy Dream Academy."

While "Philippine Idol," the local franchise of the highly popular "American Idol," is a virtual singing competition, "Pinoy Dream Academy" is a reality talent search, where the participants are billeted in one house for the entire duration of the contest.

"Philippine Idol" and "Pinoy Dream Academy" are reportedly airing against each other on primetime TV early next year. This is expected to change the competition in evening programming, presently dominated by teleseryes and big-budget action-fantasy dramas. When the singing contests battle it out against each other for primetime ratings, then it’s a different and exciting battle for the two giant networks.

Meanwhile, ABC 5 has issued its official statement after losing the "Philippine Idol" franchise to GMA 7. ABC 5 said Fremantle wanted to give them other franchises for programs, but they simply wanted "Philippine Idol" and do the contesting their own terms.

When GMA 7 came into the picture and was willing to absorb other Fremantle formats, the latter granted the "Idol" rights to GMA 7. In no time, GMA 7 presented its local version of "Celebrity Duets," a Fremantle original production which is now one of the top-ratings shows on the network, hosted by Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid.

ABC 5 is aware GMA 7 gave a better offer to Fremantle, that’s why the latter got the "Philippine Idol" rights. But lest everyone forgets, ABC 5 wishes to remind viewers that they are the first network to buy foreign program formats and break new ground in primetime TV. They produced local versions of "Family Feud" (hosted by Ogie Alcasid) "The Price is Right" (hosted by Dawn Zulueta) and "Wheel of Fortune" (hosted by Rustom Padilla).

ABS-CBN simply followed suit with its Endemol franchises for "Pinoy Big Brother," "Deal or No Deal," "Pinoy Dream Academy" and more recently, "One Versus One Hundred." GMA 7 is the last one to join the fray by virtue of its tieup with Fremantle Media.

Poor Mau Marcelo, the champion of "Philippine Idol" on ABC 5, has to suffer. Mister Showbiz heard she will not be recognized by GMA 7 as the winner of the first season. Runners-up Gian Magdangal and Jan Nieto have signed up with GMA 7.

Guys, just wondering what your comments are regarding Mau not being recognized as the first Philippine Idol. Well, for me, Im super sad for Mau. coz obviously she deserves the right to be recognized. and by this time she should be like very popular now. Unfortunately, the network war is the sole responsible for her not having enough exposure. Well Im so thankful that ABS-CBN let her guest on some of their shows. But isnt it that she deserves more than that. She deserves a regular show the very least. Anyways lets support Mau by buying her latest album I Shine For You. Its only 285 Pesos so buy now.
